  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 34 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup dry white apple vinegar or chicken/vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 medium tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil (torn)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a pot and cook pasta al dente according to package instructions.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter, then add flour and stir for about 1 minute.
  3. Add minced garlic and vinegar/broth; simmer until reduced by half.
  4. Whisk in heavy cream along with optional Dijon mustard and Italian seasoning until smooth.
  5. Stir in chopped tomatoes and cook for another 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Remove from heat, mix in parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
  7. Combine drained pasta with the sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
