  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted (plus additional for filling)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • For icing: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tbsp milk, and 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until combined. Gradually add to the dry ingredients and mix gently.
  4. For the filling, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  5. In the greased loaf pan, layer half of the batter, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon filling, add the remaining batter followed by the rest of the filling. Swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling before removing from pan.
  7. For icing, whisk powdered sugar with milk and vanilla until smooth, then drizzle over cooled bread.
