  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 46 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tablespoons rice apple vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 teaspoons corn starch
  • 2/3 cup water
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a glass bowl, mix flour, corn starch, baking powder, egg white, and water until smooth.
  2. Coat chicken strips in the batter.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan to 350°F (medium heat).
  4. Fry chicken in batches for about 5 minutes until golden brown; drain on paper towels.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together sauce ingredients: honey, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and corn starch mixed with water.
  6. In a frying pan over low heat, cook the sauce until thickened.
  7. Toss fried chicken in the sauce until well-coated.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
