  • 6 large egg whites (room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup whole milk (room temperature)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup patriotic sprinkles
  • For the frosting: 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened), 3 cups powdered sugar, pinch of sea salt, 2 tablespoons whole milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with baking spray.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Gradually add egg whites, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in milk and vanilla until smooth. Alternately add dry ingredients and sour cream in two batches until just combined.
