  • 1 package of puff pastry (2 sheets, thawed)
  • 100g dark chocolate (3.5 oz, chopped or in chip form)
  • 100g almond paste (3.5 oz)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into four equal triangles.
  3. In a small bowl, mix chopped dark chocolate with almond paste until well combined.
  4. Place about a tablespoon of the filling near the wide end of each triangle and roll it towards the point tightly.
  5. Arrange rolled croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Whisk together the egg and milk, then brush this mixture over the tops of the croissants.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar and optionally sprinkle with chocolate shavings before serving.
