  • 9 ounces dark chocolate (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup salted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the almond syrup by combining 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water in a saucepan; stir until dissolved. Remove from heat and add 1/4 teaspoon almond extract; let cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add almond flour, egg, vanilla extract, and milk; mix until smooth.
  4. Cut each croissant in half lengthwise. Spread filling inside each croissant and insert chopped chocolate pieces.
  5. Brush tops with leftover filling or milk and sprinkle sliced almonds on top.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
