  • 4 cups mixed berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries)
  • 14 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 2 cups half-and-half (at room temperature)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 2 ounces cream cheese (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Spread cubed croissants on a baking sheet and toast for 7-10 minutes until golden brown.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in half-and-half, lemon juice, lemon zest, vanilla extract, and salt.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the toasted croissants followed by half of the mixed berries and half of the custard mixture. Repeat layers and press down gently.
  5. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Bake covered for about 30 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes until set.
  7. For the glaze: Mix softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
  8. Drizzle warm glaze over the casserole before serving.
