  • 16 chocolate batons (or 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a bowl; gradually add cold milk until combined.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes; shape into a ball and let rise in an oiled bowl until doubled (about 1 hour).
  3. Prepare the butter layer by rolling the unsalted butter between parchment paper into a rectangle; refrigerate until firm.
  4. Roll out the risen dough and enclose the chilled butter layer inside; laminate by rolling and folding the dough three times.
  5. Cut triangles from the dough, place chocolate at the base, and roll tightly.
  6. Proof shaped croissants on a lined baking sheet for about 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown.
